"We are working harder than ever to find new, exciting ways to engage our students... and we always appreciate the endless support from the Madison Education Foundation." --- Mr. Jason Erdreich, 6-8 Technology, Engineering, & Design Teacher, K-12 STEAM Coordinator

The Madison Education Foundation (MEF) awards educational enrichment grants to teachers and staff members in the Madison, NJ public schools. Through teacher grants, MEF funds great ideas that energize the academic and creative life of students but are above and beyond the school district budget.

How we started

The Foundation was formed in 2003 as the Madison High School Educational Foundation to provide educational enrichment funding to the high school. On July 1, 2010, it expanded its mission to serve all five schools in the district, becoming the Madison Education Foundation.

What we are doing today

MEF is staffed 100% by volunteers.

The Board of Trustees leads and manages the Foundation. Program and event committees oversee the process of raising the money that fund grants.

Grant applications are submitted by teachers and school staff members, and reviewed by a committee that oversees the grant process and stewards each application.  Donations come from individuals, businesses, community organizations and alumni. MEF also benefits from gifts in kind that keep expenses down.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization; donations are tax deductible.

Where we are going

MEF expects that school budgets will continue to feel pressure for the foreseeable future. Though MEF cannot fill all the gaps, it can play an important role in helping teachers by funding enrichment ideas that keep teaching and learning inspiring and innovative.

You can be part of MEF's future. Attend our adult social in the fall and our 5K in May, donate, or contact us about ways to get involved.  Together we can move education forward.
